And So it Begins!

The semester started off with a bang, and I have a feeling things are going to be go go go from here on out. I love all of my classes though, so I don't mind being busy.

I'm taking a digital imaging class, which is amazing, and I love it. I took some quick pics for class today and wanted to share a couple:

Isn't the sky beautiful? If there is one thing I love about Rexburg, it's the sky. Some of the most beautiful sunsets I've ever seen have been here.

If there is one thing I hate about Rexburg, it's the wind! Ahhhhh, it won't go away, no matter how many times I tell it to!

Today as I was riding my new baby blue bike (pictures will come soon) home from school, I turned a corner and WHAM! I just about got knocked off the bike because the wind decided to blow a gajillion miles an hour in my direction. I'm not a very heavy girl, even with the 20 extra pounds, and those wind gusts get me every time. I felt like I was riding up a very steep hill, because the wind was blowing against me.

Good news: my legs got a nice workout.
Bad news: I was all nasty sweaty by the time I got home...

Well, time to get back to my homework.

.:Giselle Carin:.

Meet Giselle :) She is five days old. She is the cutest, sweetest, funnest little newborn ever!

If it's even possible, I'm more baby hungry than I've possibly ever been. For a special reason this time though. Giselle is my best friend Mariesa's baby. Seeing Mariesa as a mother, and meeting this precious new little soul just about pushed me over the edge. She's her daddy's princess, and I can see that they are going to be great parents. They love her even more than I love her, which is pretty impressive... just saying.

Motherhood was never on my mind when I was younger, but each day it gets a higher slot on my list of priorities. I'm so excited for the day that I get to hold a sweet little babe in my arms, one that was made from part of me, and part of John. Our own little miracle :)

Here are some of my favorite pictures of their Easter baby:

Is she not ADORABLE? Which ones are your favorites?

Thunderstorms

Something about thunderstorms excites me. Each bolt of lightning, and every crash of thunder bring me a strange mixture of joy and calmness. Something about the big booms always makes me smile.

I remember when I was young and afraid of the storms, my mom would take me out onto the porch, hold me in a blanket, and teach me to see the beauty. She taught me that it might sound scary, but as long as you stay out of harms way, it's there for you to enjoy. Maybe these memories are what bring me the calm feeling?

It's not just thunderstorms though, there is something about loud banging noises that I just love. In high school you know how the drum guys go down the hall playing sweet beets to get everyone pumped for the game?

I LOVED game days simply because of the rush I felt when those drummers passed me in the hall. I could never keep a smile off my face, and it always made my day seem better.

As I left my last class today, I looked up and saw a beautiful sky! The clouds were contrasting shades from light to dark, and I knew I had to get home quick to bust out my camera. Here are some of my favorite shots:

Also, this was our very first dinner in our new apartment. I love spaghetti, it's so easy and SO GOOD:

Do you have a love for thunderstorms too? How about spaghetti?

All Moved In... Almost!

Why hello there!

It feels like it has been sooo long since I last posted. In reality it has only been 4 days, but we have accomplished a lot in those four short days.

We packed up our life in Colorado Springs, we fit it all into a trailer, and the back of a suburban/boneville.  We cleaned. Then we drove, and drove, and drove.

After ten and a half hours of driving, we made it to Rexburg. Then we unpacked the trailer in the wind and rain. At least it wasn't snow!

Then we unpacked the boxes [most of them].

The good news is, we have a spare bedroom. We are moving up in the world! We have only ever lived in one bedroom apartments, so the extra space is nice.

There are a few things I absolutely love about our new apartment. The first is window light. We have four windows! My favorite one is in the kitchen. I have never had a window in my kitchen before. I love the natural light coming in while I clean and cook. Plus we have a beautiful view of the temple from our bedroom window.

The second thing I love is the closet space. In our previous apartments, we have only had the one closet in our bedroom. I have a total of 5 closets in this apartment! It's amazing! Everything has a home :)

The only thing I don't like is the living room. It's a really weird space. No matter how I arrange the furniture, it looks funny. The room is too long and skinny.

Also: the apartment has a washer and dryer included at no extra cost. Praise the heavens and all that is holy! I actually enjoy doing laundry now that I don't have to haul it across the city to Erica's house slash up the hill at our old complex.

Sorry, this post probably sounds like an advertisement for our apartment, but I just want you all to know that I'm falling in love with my apartment. No big deal.

:)

Oh you want to see some pictures? Okay, here you go! See what I mean about the window light:

I'm actually really excited to be back in Rexburg, nasty cold wind and all. School starts tomorrow, and I have a feeling it's going to be a great semester! Wish me luck :)

Meditation & Sunburns

My family came to visit this week! They are going to help us move back to Rexburg.

Yesterday I took them to see the sights, and we all got sunburnt. We had a lot of fun and a lot of laughs. I'm so grateful that they were willing to come help us out.

Here are some pictures from the day:

Next time I blog, I'll be an idahoan! :)

.Erica Michelle.

This is Erica Michelle. She is one of my all time best friends.

She is amazing. We went out for a photo shoot today and got some AMAZING shots.

Here are some of my favorites [click to enlarge, they look even better when bigger]:

Look! It's her Tyra Banks face. :)

I think this might have been my best photo shoot yet.

What do you think?
