Ode to Grapefruit

Grapefruit, oh how I love thee.

Your delicious         juiciness makes 

my mouth as happy as     a child at Disney World.

You keep me company w  hile the husband is at work, 

and I need a companion. Each piece of you that enters my 

mouth makes me want to shout with pure joy. When I have 

the privilege of eating you, my fingers turn into mini prunes, 

because I savor your flavor, and it takes me at least twenty 

minutes to finish. I don't mean to cause a slow and 

painful death. I just want to thoroughly enjoy 

every little juice packet in your being.

Thanks for being available all 

year long.You make me 

a happy woman.

A side note to my sweet readers: Have you ever tried peeling a grapefruit instead of cutting it in half and eating it with a spoon? If you have not, I'm afraid I must tell you that you haven't truly lived yet... Please try it out and tell me what you think. But you have to be sure to peel everything.

You don't eat it like an orange, no it takes more work than that. You have to peel the peel, and then peel the clear things that make up individual slices. And then you can enjoy the delicious juiciness, and you will never want to go back to simply cutting it in half. Trust me.

P.S. I planned on making this a tutorial type thing, you know like, "How to Properly Eat a Grapefruit," but once I indulged in the eating process I couldn't stop. I totally forgot to take pictures along the way. That's how good it is!
