Awkward!

Isn't the spelling of awkward super awkward. I mean, it sounds awkward too. Say it a few times: Awkward, awkward, awkward. It's so.... fitting.

I had some awkward experiences this morning. See, I've decided to stop blow drying my hair. It's had a lot of static lately, and I always thought blow drying made it look thicker. But I skipped blow drying last week, and it actually sort of solved those problems.

So I have this turban towel thing, and I wear it after my shower for a while, because I don't like the feeling of cold wet hair on my back and shoulders [see photo below]. It's so much lighter than wearing a whole towel on my head–much easier on the neck.

This morning, a few minutes after I got out of the shower, John came in to tell me it was snowing and that he wouldn't mind if I gave him a ride to work. I said okay. I had no choice but to leave my turban on. My wet hair would have frozen otherwise!

I got some weird looks from people while I was driving. And we got to John's place of employment a little early. John decided he wanted to sit in the car for a while to give more people a chance to see me in my bright blue turban. Two guys walked past and did triple takes. I can only imagine what they were thinking: "What the heck, a small white girl in an indian turban!?" My face turned bright red and John just laughed.

And then on the way home, everyone stared! Good thing I'll most likely never see any of them again!

Todays Outfit

Sometimes I get dressed in the morning, and I look in the mirror and I think, "Hey I like this combo!" I love it when I make a connection, and I combine my clothes in a new and exciting way.

That happened this morning. What can I say, I love complimentary colors:

When it Rains it Snows

I knew it was coming! I predicted it a few posts back...

The snow has arrived!

I'm not gonna lie, I'm a little bit disappointed. I was sort of looking forward to fall. We just sort of skipped it at hyper speed.

Hopefully it will warm up again, because I haven't been able to do one of my very favorite fall activities yet––leave crunching! I don't know what it is about the sound of leaves crunching under my feet, but I just LOVE it!

Sometimes I look like a retard, because I can't walk in a straight line. I see these leaves that will just be perfect for crunching, and I have to make a mad dash to the left before anyone else tries to get them! All the leaves that have fallen have been soggy, because it's been raining and snowing :(

One of other my favorite things about fall is scarves, cute jackets, and boots. So after John and I went out for donuts before class, I chose an outfit with one of my favorite scarves. Today was definitely a scarf day:

Sorry my photos aren't the best quality today. I sent them to myself via text message, so the images are super small/bad resolution. I left my camera at home today. Dag nabit.

I have an hour in between my class and going to work, so I've been sittin' inside, pandora-ing it up, AND doing a little web design. I'm re-designing my website to make it more visually appealing, more user friendly, more scalable [since people aren't always browsing from the computer], and more... well just more. I have a huge love hate relationship with HTML & CSS coding, but that deserves a whole post to itself. I finished my assignment, so now I'm blogging it up.

I'm Growing! And So Is My Wardrobe!

Have I told you guys about my undying love for Ross? 

Their racks are full of beautiful, and very professional looking, clothes. When I go, it's like everywhere I look I see something that I want to try on. Erica and I ventured out today, and Ross was our destination. 

I tried on a total of 8 + 8 + 6 (they only allow you to bring in 8 items at a time). I'm not very good at math, but I'm pretty sure that adds up to 22. Don't worry, I only ended up buying 5 of them.

Good news/bad news: Ross is within walking distance from our apartment. We live right behind it! Good for my side of the closet, but bad for our debit card... Wait, no it's not! Because Ross is so stinkin' inexpensive. 

What would have cost around $103 at the mall only cost me $39 at Ross. Like I said, I'm no math whiz, but that's 64 dollars in savings! I love good deals! They are my one true love (besides John).

Extra good news: I actually fit in the majority of the clothes I tried on! No I haven't grown up (taller), but I have grown outwards (fatter). Shopping trips use to disappoint me. I was such I tiny little twig. I'd find all these adorable clothes, and get to the dressing rooms only to find out that just about every one was loose somewhere. Not so anymore. Today I tried on a skirt in size one and I could barely get it past my hips! Happy day.

The shirt I'm wearing in the picture above is one of my favorites from todays shopping trip. It is SO comfy! My new rule is that I can't buy anything that isn't professional slash older looking. Since I'm so small, I have to start wearing big girl clothes so that people start taking me seriously. :)

Wait... Did Someone Say Finals!?

Is it depressing that I dressed up yesterday to go to the grocery store? I mean seriously, all it got me was some scary/creepy looks from construction workers... Next time I'll stay in my sweats :)

This week at school is what I like to call, "start and finish final projects that I've been procrastinating all semester..." week. I've been cooped up inside staring at my computer for way too long. And I know that  I have no room to complain, because hello, I'm the one who procrastinated.

Senioritis is kicking in, luckily I only have two semesters left. Everybody cheer for me!

Bad news: John has been working like 12 hour days, which make me even MORE bored, if that is even possible. I'm pretty sure it is.

Double Bad News: After school gets out next week, I have 5 days to pack up the entire apartment on my own, and then we have three days to get moved in to our apartment in Rexburg before school starts again.

Good News: I read my "little things" post, and it made me feel much better [if you need a pick-me-up, read it again by clicking here].

My mind is very blank, I have nothing else to say.

Except that this song is making me feel really happy right now, and it's possibly keeping me sane:
