Jimmer Fever?

John and I went to the BYU vs. Gonzaga game on Saturday. March Madness has been pretty exciting this season, and since we are only an hour away from Denver, we decided to make the trip up for the game.

We haven't had cable, or normal TV channels since we've been in Colorado Springs, and so we hadn't seen many of the BYU games, but we did see the scores. And we were pretty impressed with Jimmer's stats.

Seeing them play in real life was such a treat. Especially because we had some die hard Gonzaga fans in the next section over.

Is it just me, or do sporting events bring out the worst in people? It seems like these grown men were using the game as an excuse to act like immature (and very rude/bad mannered) boys! I was glad BYU beat them just because these Gonzaga fans felt like idiots afterwards. Is that rude of me?

Anyway, John and I might have a little bit of Jimmer Fever. He sure knows how to make those three pointers! And he has some pretty nice arm muscles :)

This is what happens when Jimmer leaves the court after scoring something like 34 points all on his own:

[I'm aware that my attempt to chant "BYU" with everyone in a deep voice sounds pretty ridiculous.]

Some pictures from the day:

Beautiful Denver.

We saw two games, this shot was from the first (not BYU).

Yes, the ball went through the hoop, if you were wondering.

Are you a Jimmer Fredette fan?

Grad Announcements!

My little sisters are all grown up [almost]!

I've been working on their graduation announcements, and I need some advice.

In design, critiques are always a good idea. Especially for me, because once I stare at something for a certain amount of time, I lose touch with reality, and I forget what actually looks good. Plus, the twins and I are one very indecisive bunch, and we can't decide which ones we like best.

So we are going to have a fun little voting party. Tori, Tara, and Kelsie [if you read my blog], please give me some advice on how I can improve! Everyone else, Leave a comment with your favorites for both Valerie and Vanessa, and feel free to tell me what you think should change.

If you want to look closer, click to enlarge.

[Remember, these are drafts, not finals, so I still have some things to fix]

Let the voting begin!

Thanks for helping us out! :)

Strawberries!

This afternoon I enjoyed one of my most very favorite snacks.

I also enjoyed capturing the beauty of the strawberries involved in said snack.

I believe that, eventually, this treat will be the death of me.

Directions:

Rinse Strawberries. Admire the bright colors & sweet seeds.

Let them dry on a paper towel.

Admire the designs on the insides of the strawberries.

Slice them and place them in a bowl.

Melt chocolate chips on low heat.

Don't forget to squish the chocolate chips as they start to melt.
It helps to relieve stress. :]

Poor some heavy cream on the strawberries!

Drizzle with chocolate & take a picture. Send the picture via text or web to your friends.

Then add more chocolate & cream (nobody has to know) and consider sprinkling with sugar.

If you are trying to get fat, this will help you out in your quest.

If you are trying to get skinny, it's totally worth it. I give you permission to pamper yourself. Just this once!

:)

Also, there is an adventure going on in your mouth with every single bite!

Simplicity

Sometimes it's the most simple objects that fascinate me most.

Todays I found fascination in this little thing:

Can you guess what it is?

It's a flashlight! Maybe you could tell right away... But the fact of the matter is, it's freakin' awesome! Who knew that if I stared down into my florescent flashlight I'd find such a sweet view.

I have my cancker sore to thank for this discovery. As I was using the light to look back in my throat at the nasty little thing, I noticed how cool the inside of the flashlight was. So obviously I had to take a picture...

One of my favorite things to do with photography is to find a new perspective on things we use all the time.

I love to see the beauty in the simple things.

So I made this cute little poster:
